House President briefs Greek Deputy Minister on Cyprus issue developments CNA - CYPRUS/Nicosia 28/08/2019

House President Demetris Syllouris briefed on Wednesday the Greek Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Diaspora Greeks, Antonis Diamataris on the latest developments in the Cyprus issue.
A House announcement says that Syllouris met today with Diamataris, who is in Nicosia on the occasion of the 20th World Conference of Overseas Cypriots.

Syllouris and Diamataris praised the role of overseas Greeks and Cypriots and exchanged views on how to establish more practical ways of cooperation with the Diaspora, it is noted.

Cyprus has been divided since 1974, when Turkish troops invaded and occupied its northern third. Turkey has ignored numerous UN resolutions calling for the withdrawal of the Turkish troops and respect of the integrity and sovereignty of the Republic of Cyprus.
